Mind Marvels introduces and develops young people's vocabulary for emotional literacy to express their feelings effectively.
I know that we all experience a variety of thoughts and emotions that affect how we feel and behave and I am learning ways of managing them.

Mind Marvels promotes positive thinking with young people, to develop self-esteem, self-compassion and confidence.

Mind Marvels explores positive affirmations to help calm and focus the mind and promote resilience.
I understand that my feelings and reactions can change depending upon what is happening within and around me. This helps me to understand my own behaviour and the way others behave.

Mind Marvels teach young people mindful movement and breathing exercises to self regulate, empowering them when experiencing different feelings, moods and reactions.
I know that friendship, caring, sharing, fairness, equality and love are important in building positive relationships. As I develop and value relationships, I care and show respect for myself and others.

Mind Marvels ensures young people are engaged in an environment that is respectful, caring and which promotes the sharing and understanding of feelings, to encourage healthy empowering friendships.
I understand the importance of mental wellbeing and that this can be fostered and strengthened through personal coping skills and positive relationships.

Mind Marvels encourages young people to see the best in others and treat everyone with kindness and understanding.

Mind Marvels supports young people to learn about calming tools and how to use them when needed to develop optimum mental wellbeing.
Example Lesson Plan (ensuring CfE outcomes are achieved):
LearnMeerkat, Owl and Elephant parts of our brain, how they react and how this can feel inside.
Move – Fun stretches and mindful movements.
Connect – Visual stories of our big emotions with self-massage and breathing strategies, e.g. ‘smell the flowers, blow out the candles’.
Mindful – Calming relaxation to rest our heads and bodies.
Be Kind – Group and individual affirmations.
